HERMES Ambassador

  1. It's interesting that the machine can be used either with or without electricity.

    Hermes typewriters do seem to have excellent alignment, none is better.

    1. Many thanks for your comment, Richard.
      I guess i'll never use the automatic return so often, because I don't find it a big effort to use the normal lever! Anyway, it's still an interesting feature.
      Besides having a good alignment, Hermes typewriters also are very, very lightweight.
      This Ambassador, with all the transformers and mechanism for the electric return, is still lighter than my Olivetti Lexicon or Diaspron.

  2. That is surprising about the weight. It looks as though it would be much heavier than a Lexikon. I imagine a powered return would help if you are typing really fast because it wouldn't interrupt the hand movements as much. It was interesting to read your appraisal, thanks.
